expanded recreational programming and facilities in the community with an estimated cost of 20-40 Million Dollars.A committee formed by the Emporia Recreation Commission, jointly with the School District and the City Commission (referred to going forward as the Steering Committee), desires to explore options for the renovation, expansion, and/or construction of new recreational facilities, including outdoor amenities to improve the quality of life of community members.The Emporia Recreation Commission coordinates and delivers recreational programming and services at various facilities owned by the City and School District, including the Lee Beran Rec Center.This study shall include services that lead us to a clear, confident path forward resulting in a sales tax increase ballot question presented to the public via special election.The purpose of this request for qualifications is to gather information from architectural firms interested in working with the joint Steering Committee for this project. This committee will screen and select the most qualified firm from those submitted. The committee may elect to interview firms based on responses and qualifications received.
