Addendum No. 1 is now available. 09/20/2021The City of Pueblo is soliciting proposals from qualified professional recruiting firms to conduct a national search for a Director of Finance. The City of Pueblo Finance Department is committed to budgeting, reporting, responsible spending, and financial transparency with respect to the City’s approximately $95-million annual budget. The Director of Finance is responsible for overall administration of internal accounting and financial matters including the preparation of the Mayor’s annual budget, accounting of City funds, investments, debt financing, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, sales tax, and finance related customer service. Additionally, the Director is responsible to provide expert leadership of management, professional, and technical level staff in both the Accounting/Budget Division and the Sales Tax Division. The Finance Department divisions are staffed by 22 full-time and three (3) part-time employees. The City of Pueblo is located in Pueblo County, Colorado along Southern I25 with a population of approximately 110,000 people. In 2018 Pueblo voters adopted a strong Mayor form of government granting the Mayor oversight of the full-service municipality’s daily operation. Additionally, the City of Pueblo is governed by a seven (7) member elected City Council.
