Lead Free Ammo Blanks

The U.S. SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND is looking for a vendor capable of supplying the following rounds: 5.56x45mm loose blank cartridge (XM1177), 5.56x45mm linked blank cartridge (XM1178), 7.62x51mm linked blank cartridge (XM1179), 5.56x45mm reduced velocity marking cartridges, and linked 5.56x46mm and 7.62x51mm cartridges linked in a 3-1-1 configuration (blanks (XM1178/XM1179) to marking round to blank round). round)).  The XM1177/XM1178/XM1179 munitions must be lead free and capable to fully operate the weapons system without the use of a Blank Firing Adapter (BFA).  A BFA is not required for XM1177/XM1178/XM1179, but a Close Combat Mission Capability Kit (CCMCK) bolt compatibility is required.  The XM1177/XM1178/XM1179 has an 18 inch (457.2mm) standoff which allows for a closer safe engagement distance with reduced heat and/or flame. The 5.56x45mm XM1177 and XM1178 CCBS ammunition is fired from the M4A1 Carbine Rifles, M16A4 Rifles, and M249 using a Close Combat Mission Capability Kit (CCMCK) weapon conversion bolt in lieu of a BFA.  The 7.62x51mm XM1179 is fired from M240B weapons and also uses the CCBS weapon conversion bolt in lieu of a BFA.The 5.56x45mm Reduced Velocity Marking Rounds shall be lead free and capable of being fired out of and cycling the M4A1 without the use of a BFA using a Close Combat Mission Capability Kit (CCMCK) bolt.The linked 5.56x45mm cartridges shall be linked in a 3-1-1 configuration (blanks (XM1178) to marking round to blank round).  Additionally, the cartridges shall be lead free and capable of being fired out of and cycling the M249 without the use of a BFA while using a Close Combat Mission Capability Kit (CCMCK) bolt.  The linked 7.62x51mm cartridges shall be linked in a 3-1-1 configuration (blanks (XM1179) to marking round to blank round).  Additionally, the cartridges shall be lead free and capable of being fired out of and cycling the M240 without the use of a BFA while using a Closer Combat Blank System (CCBS) bolt.  All energetic materials used in the cartridges shall be qualified for their intended military use by the Army or a Marine Corps Qualification Authority.Specifications:  The cartridges procured shall be produced to Government provided Statement Of Work (SOW), detailed specifications and accepted in Government specified test barrels.  Submission Information:  All responsible and interested sources who can provide items listed should submit their capabilities to produce the cartridge configurations requested.  The respondent must demonstrate and provide valid documentation that they have the ability to produce a minimum of 5,000,000 of each cartridge type, annually.  Please identify any Proprietary information submitted.
