General work description: The intent of this solicitation is to qualify multiple vendors to provide student extended learning/enrichment services whilst providing childcare at five of our schools. The student extended learning/enrichment services will offer a wide array of services that will offer active supervision of students and meaningful, curriculum-related activities. Allowable programs and activities include at least one of the following: school content matter (math, reading, science, social studies), physical wellness, sports/fitness, recreation, enhancing behavioral services, mental health programming, and student enrichment experiences including but not limited to art, music, theater, STEAM/STEM education youth development and engagement, service learning, violence prevention, counseling, foreign languages/ multilingual, college prep, character education. Programs should offer enrichment or extension opportunities preferably in consultation with the school to meet student
needs based on data. These programs should offer affordable and reliable services before and/or after school, on weekends or in the evening. Our community schools’ programs must be aligned to the wraparound services that are identified by the Maryland Blueprint. A needs assessment, based on the wraparound services in the Maryland Blueprint, was done to gather data about the needs of the families at the community schools. Two of the top priorities included childcare and safe and secure activities in the neighborhood. Families and staff indicated that access to music, art, theater and STEAM activities would be helpful to students. Achievement data and survey data demonstrate that students need assistance in both reading and math. Partnerships that provide additional services for students outside of the school day can provide the assistance with childcare that families need in addition to meeting the extension and enrichment needs of the communities.Although not required, we are looking for programs that, in addition to services for students, offer families of students’ opportunities for family engagement, family literacy and parent education programs. Proposals can be for multiple sites.TimelineRelease Project Date:April 3, 2024Pre-Proposal Meeting (Non-Mandatory):April 9, 2024, 2:30pm Google Meet joining info: Video call link: https://meet.google.com/knr-dfed-wvi Or dial: ‪(US) +1 929-999-1399‬ PIN: ‪721 876 268‬#Question Submission Deadline:April 15, 2024, 3:00pmProposal Submission Deadline:April 22, 2024, 1:00pm Bids will opened and publicly read via Google Meet.
