Notice of Intent

This is not a request for quotations, or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation, but merely notification of the Social Security Administrations's intent to issue, on a sole-source basis, a firm fixed-price purchase order to Software Alternative Incorporated DBA DanL Database Consulting, for technical expertise in replacing the agency's legacy Master Data Access Method software that manages the major programmatic master files. Under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 6.302-1, the COntracting officer has determined that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source to be responsible, and that no other services will satisfy agency requirements. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill this requirement. This is not a request for quotation, and the Government does not intend to pay for information received. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Respondants will not be notified of any results of any Government evaluation of information received.
