Bid Number:DPW24-108 Bid Title:2024 Water Gate Valve Exercising Category:DPWStatus:OpenBid Recipient:Karen Kennedy Description: Sealed bids for the Gate Valve Exercise will be received by the Select Board of the Town of Bedford (herein after, “Owner”) at the office of the Department of Public Works, 314 Great Road, Bedford, Massachusetts 01730 until May 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., and at that time and place they will be opened and read aloud. The clock in the conference room of the Department of Public Works shall be considered official. No faxed or email bids shall be accepted. No conditional bids shall be accepted. No late bids shall be accepted. The project will cover approximately 84 miles of water main and 1,690 total gate valves throughout the Town. Year one of the contract shall cover 845 gates which is half of the Towns gate valves and water mains. The Town shall have the option to renew the contract, at their sole discretion, for an additional two years in one-year increments for

the remaining gates. The project also includes a fixed amount of 50 gate valve repairs to be expected, with 20 repairs requiring excavation and 30 repairs that will not require excavation. Contract Documents may be examined and/or obtained beginning April 18, 2024. Wage rates are subject to the prevailing wage rates as per M.G.L., c.149, §§26 to 27 G inclusive as contained in the Project Manual.
