The activities to be carried out as part of this Project include thinning and removal of ladder fuels, invasive weed treatments, and planting trees. The thinning and ladder fuel removal will occur at the Deer Creek Hills Open Space Preserve (Preserve), which is owned by the Sacramento Valley Conservancy (Conservancy), Regional Parks, and California State Parks; and on private lands around the Preserve in the Sloughhouse area, including the community of Rancho Murieta (Figure 1). The invasive weed treatment and tree planting component of the Project will occur entirely within the Preserve and is the subject of this request for proposals (RFP).
