Request for Interested Manufacturers - Hydraulic Motor

SUBJECT: Market research is being conducted to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet the requirements for qualification and production of the Hydraulic Motor, NSN 1650-00-487-7678UC, PN MF1-059-1A. ITEM DESCRIPTION: The subject hydraulic motor is a mechanical device designed to convert the energy of fluid pressure to rotary motion used on the Air Force C-5 Galaxy aircraft which is a military transport aircraft.  This hydraulic motor converts aircraft system hydraulic power into rotary mechanical power to power the landing gear, nose visor and cargo doors on C5A aircraft. It operates at a rate of 17 gallons per minute.IMPEDIMENT TO COMPETITION: The original equipment manufacturer for this item is Eaton Aerospace, LLC (Cage 62983), which maintains its configuration by part number.  The Government does not own any data, drawings, schematics, or any other releasable technical data in support of this requirement. Aerospace, LLC is the only known source with adequate knowledge of the required Hydraulic Motor performance requirements and possession of the required technical data and capabilities needed to produce this item and ensure compatibility of the equipment. INTEREST: The DLA/AWB Contracting Office intends to award a sole source contract to Eaton Aerospace, LLC for the manufacture of the subject hydraulic motor in support of the C-5 Galaxy aircraft.
