1) The Department of General Services (DGS), Office of Risk and Insurance Management (ORIM) administer the State's Defensive Driver Training (DDT) program, pursuant to State Administrative Manual (SAM) 0752 and California Labor Code 6401.7 (a)(4). The program's objective is to reduce the number, severity, and cost of vehicle-related collisions by fostering safe driving attitudes, introducing risk management driving strategies, and reviewing current motor vehicle laws. ORIM works closely with State entities statewide to satisfy training needs by providing online, classroom and behind the wheel training. ORIM annually trains approximately 500 individuals via classroom and behind the wheel training.
2) Bidder will provide Defensive Driver Training (DDT) services on an "as needed" basis, as requested by ORIM.
3) Bidder will provide DDT services at various locations within the State of California as requested.
4) ORIM intends to award to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder by service type within each territory (winning bidder). Bidders are required to bid on all service types for all territories. ORIM will contact the winning bidder to schedule the requested type of training when the need for the service(s) arise(s). If the winning bidder is unavailable during the ORIM requested date(s), ORIM may contact second lowest responsible and responsive bidder for the territory and for that service type, to perform the
