Request for Bids Transit- Lawn Repair Proposal Due 7.11.2023 @2pm Request For Bid General Description The City of Greenville is seeking a well-qualified company to repair the lawn at the Transit Garage. All work is to be completed by October 1st 2023. The method for repairing lawn issues is not specified in this document. The proposed method for repair will be a consideration of the bid in addition to the price. Lafayette Street Greenville, MI 48838 http://www.greenvillemi.org/ Request For Bid All responses must be clearly labeled- Transit Lawn Bid Evaluation of Proposals The City will review submitted bids and other relevant information. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any response for any or no reason and to waive any minor irregularity if determined to be in the best interest of the City of Greenville. Selection of Proposals Once a proposal is selected, it will be presented to the Council for approval. It is anticipated that this agreement will be considered at the City Council meeting on July 18th, 2023. Scope of Work This project involves lawn repair service at The City of Greenville Transit Bus Garage. The lawn repair project will correct the issues with excessive stone/gravel, and patchy grass on approximately 12,500 Sq/ft of the Transit Lawn. The City will expect that the final look of the lawn will be free from all stones and debris, with soil that will promote healthy and sustainable growth with consistent spacing and without patches. The evaluation period will be one year after seeding is complete. The Contractor shall make corrections as necessary within that period at no cost to the City if the watering has been according to the recommendations. Requirements: • Determine and implement best method for lawn correction • Repair state of lawn using excavation, seeding, or sodding equipment if necessary. • Apply screened Topsoil where necessary. • Implement Fertilizer to promote turf growth. • Seed with quality grass seed. • City of Greenville will be responsible for watering affected areas of lawn according to recommendations by the Contractor. Request For Bid Additional Option for Repair: • See Map-There is a low spot on the north side of the lawn where water collects. This would be an ideal location to install storm drainage or a catch basin connecting a French drain to eliminate drainage issues. The bid must include the ADDENDA: If addenda are required on this project, they will be posted to the website www.greenvillemi.org and distributed to known interested parties no later than July 10th, 2023 by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday. It is the responsibility of the bidder to check for addenda before the bid and acknowledge any addenda on the bid form. BIDDER'S INVESTIGATION: Prior to submission of the bid, all bidders shall make, and shall be deemed to have made a careful examination of the site (shown on the enclosed map), the Scope of Work, the specifications included herewith, and shall have become informed as to the location and nature of the proposed work, general existing conditions, and all other matters that may affect the cost and the time of completion of the contract. LABOR, MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT: The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, and other equipment necessary to properly complete the work according to the specifications, as well as any safety devices the contractor deems necessary for safe operations, or as required by law. INSURANCE: The contractor shall not commence, nor allow a sub-contractor to commence work under this contract until he/she has obtained all insurance required under this heading and such insurance has been approved by the owner. All policies required shall be written by a company licensed to do business in the State of Michigan. The City shall be named as an additional named insured on all liability policies. A copy of the policy shall be submitted to the City prior to beginning the work. LICENSING & PERMITS: The contractor shall comply with all local, state and federal regulations and statutes, and shall be licensed to perform work in the State of Michigan.
