2022 Request for Interest - Property Improvement Program Contractor Category:City of Cumberland Bids NOTICE TO BIDDERS The City of Cumberland seeks to assemble a list of qualified contractors and firms (Proposers) for its new Property Improvement Program for existing residential buildings. Residential properties qualifying for the City’s Property Improvement Grant Program will receive assistance to make smaller property improvement repairs (i.e. roof repair, roof replacement, repair or replace a porch, repair a dilapidated garage, etc.). As a stipulation of this program, the City of Cumberland will solicit estimates from the list of qualified and interested contractors to perform the work at the referenced property. Sealed packets, addressed to the Mayor and City Council will be received at the office of the City Clerk, City Hall, Cumberland, Maryland 21502, until but not after 2:00 p.m., local time, on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Proposals will be opened and read at 2:30 p.m. on that

date in the City Hall Council Chambers. All proposals must be submitted in duplicate in a sealed envelope, plainly marked on the outside thereof: “2022 Request for Interest – Property Improvement Program Contractor” Interested contractors must obtain a bid packet from the Department of Community Development, 57 N. Liberty Street, Cumberland, MD, 21502, either by phone at 301-759-6442, or email to debbie.helmstetter@cumberlandmd.gov Requests for information (RFI) for the explanation or clarification of any point not sufficiently covered by existing documents must be submitted in writing to Kevin Thacker, Code Compliance Manager, 57 North Liberty Street, Cumberland, MD 21502, or through email to kevin.thacker@cumberlandmd.gov . The cutoff for submittal of RFI’s is 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. The Mayor and City Council of Cumberland reserves the right to waive any technicalities and to reject any or all bids, and to accept any or all proposals which in their judgment is to the best interest of the City.
