WORK:
A. Design, furnish and install materials to provide a K12 rated active vehicle barrier system to protect the crest of Lahontan Dam and spillway structure from unauthorized vehicle encroachment.
B. Work under this contract shall include the design, procurement, installation, and testing (for smooth operation) of an active vehicle barrier system. The barrier system shall consist of an active vehicle barrier and will include two barriers, one on either side of the dam. The existing popup security barrier will be abandoned in place and existing fencing to remain in place.
C. Passive barriers are defined as immobile, non-operable, non-opening barriers intended to prevent access to Reclamation assets by motor vehicles having a load capacity of more than 1000 pounds net weight. Existing passive barriers to remain in place, but may be relocated as necessary.
D. Active barriers are defined as operable (manual or automatic) opening and closing barriers intended to control access to Reclamation assets by motor vehicles with a load capacity of more than 1000 pounds net weight.
E. A K12 rated active barrier shall be installed on the access roads leading to both the right side and left side of the dam to control vehicle access to the dam and spillway structure. The active barriers shall be located approximately one-hundred-twenty (120) feet from the edge of each spillway structure. The active barrier shall have a minimum width of twenty (20) feet overall with a minimum fourteen (14) foot clear opening. Location, overall and clear opening to be field verified prior to building gates.

www.fedbizopps.gov on or about April 13, 2017. The date for receipt of bids will be approximately May 12, 2016. The solicitation must be downloaded at the above website; no paper copy of this solicitation will be distributed.
Prospective contractors MUST be actively registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database at
http://www.sam.gov to be eligible for award.
Contract performance period is expected to be 100 calendar days from Notice to Proceed.
