Updated Location for Haines State Forest Amendment Public Meeting

*Please note change of location*Under the direction of DNR Commissioner Boyle, Alaska Division of Forestry & Fire Protection is performing an amendment to the Haines State Forest management plan in to include language reflecting new Carbon offset legislation (AS 39.95.400 - 39.95.499) and the inclusion of Carbon management in multiple use principles on State forest land (AS41.17.200). The amendment process will open with a public meeting held in the lobby of Chilkat Center for the Arts on May 8,2024 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm. The meeting space is wheelchair accessible. A web-based videoconference option will be available through Zoom. The purpose of this meeting is to describe the nature of the amendment, outline the plan amendment process, and identify opportunities for public involvement.
