1 March 7, 2024 I-195 Redevelopment District ADDENDUM NO. 001 Questions & Answers Call for Curators, Programming, and Art The I-195 Redevelopment District (District) is seeking proposals from curators, event organizers, and those interested in community programming for 195 District Park’s (Park) 2024 events season. The following questions and answers were conveyed during a non-mandatory virtual information session on March 4, 2024. Question 1: What are the biggest attributes the Park is looking for when selecting a grant application? Answer 1: The scoring criteria is included in the RFP on page 5. It includes points awarded for community impact, the experience of the event organizer in producing similar programs, the uniqueness of the programming, the overall feasibility of the project, budget approach and the technical and logistical workability. Additional points are awarded to applicants who are registered with the Rhode Island Division of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion as a
minority or woman-owned business. We are open to all types of events and activation and prioritize programming that is accessible, free, and open to the public. Question 2: In the application, is it acceptable to not include an event date with the intention of aligning with a larger-scale event? Answer 2: Yes, it is okay not to include a specific date for your event in the application. If you have a clear understanding of the types of events that align well with your programming, you may include that information in your application. If you have date flexibility, please include that in your proposal. Question 3: Is there a way to predict the number of attendees at any event when considering estimating staffing and material costs on the budget section of the RFP? Answer 3: We host many different types of events. The Park has held events as small as 10 participants and up to 60,000 participants. Last year the Park had 1.5 million visits and the average daily number of visits was 4,810. The number of people in the Park is dependent on many different factors, including other events happening simultaneously, previous popularity of the event and marketing. 2 Question 4: Is it possible to structure the budget on a cost per event model? Answer 4: Yes, we have received applications that use the budget section to outline costs on a per-event basis. If there is flexibility in the number of events proposed, please indicate that in your proposal. ***End of Addendum ***
