Overview: The Iowa Department of Transportation is seeking bids for; Replace well booster/pump at the Newhall Maintenance Garage located at 7318 27th Avenue, Watkins, IA 52354. Scope: Remove/install new well booster motor and pump in same location as existing. Start up system and verify operation. Provide
manufacturer warranty for parts and one year labor warranty. Photos/additional resources can be found on the Attachment tab. Existing motor no longer works causing breakers to trip. Low water pressure creates issues for staff when washing equipment. Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: Meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Estimated start date - Upon issuance of award ( The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract). Estimated project end date- 05/01/2024 (This includes re solution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids). Note: Contractors to propose a suggested revised completion date taking weather conditions into consideration. This is a required Attribute. See Attribute #12. Site Visits: A pre-bid site visit is highly recommended but not required. To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact the Purchasing Agent overseeing the bid at kyle.williams@iowadot.us with a date and time of when the awarded contractor wishes to conduct a site visit before the question cutoff date/time. Davis-Bacon Wages do not apply. Please post all questions before the question cutoff deadline of 03/31/2023 at 10:00PM CST. Questions must be submitted in writing.
