These would govern how the Information Services department manages information, secures data systems, and works with other city departments to implement systems and services. Like many municipalities, the City of Hillsboro has an extensive footprint in computerized and networked systems, for both internal use and for public services. While the City has implemented industry-standard technology and best practices, the overall security approach is not coordinated as part of an organized program or framework. We seek to advance our overall program by aligning with an established framework. Through this solicitation, we hope to contract with a firm that has expertise in the cybersecurity field to create a strong foundation for our cybersecurity efforts and

develop a plan for ongoing maintenance and expansion of the initial implementation. The City of Hillsboro participates in various compliance schemes, namely CJIS for Police and municipal court functions, HIPAA for medical-related data regarding fire and rescue functions, and PCI-DSS for various electronic payment systems. In 2018 the City also committed to a set of data privacy principles to guide the collection, storage, and use of personal information.
