The Rose Foundation for Communities and the Environmentinvites applications for its California Environmental Grassroots Fund. The fund supports small and emerging grassroots groups across California tackling challenging environmental problems, including toxic pollution, urban sprawl, sustainable agriculture, climate change, environmental degradation of rivers and wild places, and our communities and health.Small grants of $7,500 or less will be awarded through the fund. Project impact must be within the state of California. Issues supported include, but are not limited to, environmental health and justice, climate advocacy and resilience, land management, urban sprawl, habitat and wilderness protection, water resources, sustainable agriculture, and pollution and toxins. The fund prioritizes groups that serve and represent historically marginalized or impacted communities, especially BIPOC, frontline, and low-income communities, as well as organizations whose work is not just having a meaningful impact in their communities but who are thinking strategically about how their work fits into the larger landscape of environmental challenges we face today.Applicants must have an annual income or expenses of $150,000 or less to be eligible.
