The Vermont Department of Labor (VDOL) announces the availability of funds to award grants to organizations having the capacity to deliver a Summer Employment Opportunity (SEO) that links academics, occupational skills learning, and career pathways. Grants will begin when the grant paperwork has been signed by all parties and will end September 30, 2018.
REQUIREMENT: Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires any programs funded by youth formula funds to use 75% of those funds in service to out-of-school youth ages 16-24. This
requirement will be closely monitored and enforced by the Vermont Department of Labor.
ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS: Applications will be accepted from public or private non-profit organizations.
These grants must include the following WIOA requirements:
1. All grantees must provide academics, occupational skills learning, and career pathway guidance to all participants.
2. The priority for the Summer Employment Opportunity is to serve out of school youth.
