Description: The County of Jackson, Michigan will receive sealed bids for the Jackson County Airport – Reynolds FieldAIRPORT TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER IMPROVEMENTS project at Mead & Hunt, Inc., Lansing,Michigan until 11:00 am EST, Friday, February 17, 2023. Bids received after the stated time will not beaccepted. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud immediately following the time stated above.Sealed bids shall be addressed to Mead & Hunt, Inc., 2605 Port Lansing Road, Lansing, MI 48906. Bidsshall have the name and address of the bidder clearly marked on the outside of the envelope. Theenvelope shall also be marked with the following: Sealed Bid: Airport Traffic Control TowerImprovements, Jackson County Airport – Reynolds Field. Bids must be submitted on the bid formsprovided in the Project Manual.There is a five (5) percent DBE requirement for this project.Bidders shall submit a proposal guaranty in the form of a proposal bond, certified check, cashier’s check,or bank money order

in the amount of not less than five (5) percent of the bid sum. The proposal guarantyshall be made payable to Jackson County. If the selected contractor fails to provide the required materialsand/or execute the contract within twenty-eight (28) days after being furnished with the necessarycontract and bond forms, the proposal guaranty will be forfeited to the Sponsor. The successful bidder willbe required to furnish satisfactory 100 percent performance bond as well as labor and material bond.No bid may be withdrawn after closing time for the receipt of proposals for a period of ninety (90) calendardays. This project is contingent upon receipt of 2023 FAA (Federal) funding, which may delay orpreclude award of this project.Jackson County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to waive any informalities in bidding or toaccept the bids or bid, should it consider same to be in its best interest.A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 11:00 am EST, at the EAA HangarMeeting Room, 3606 Wildwood Avenue, Jackson, Michigan 49202. Potential bidders areencouraged to attend, though attendance is not mandatory.Scope of WorkThe project will consist of improvements and renovations to the airport traffic control tower buildingincluding window system/curtain wall replacement, mechanical system replacements, electrical andlighting upgrades, ADA accessibility improvements, elevator installation, and other associated upgrades.The project shall be complete and ready for final inspection within five hundred four (504) calendar daysfrom the effective date of Notice-to-Proceed.Availability of DocumentsComplete project bidding documents will be available beginning on January 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm EST.
