Legal Protection Of brand In 44 Jurisdictions (18-133254) In February 2016, the International education division at Global Affairs Canada launched the international education brand for Canada, which includes the “EduCanada” logo and a unique look and feel. The brand was launched in close collaboration with the provinces and territories, represented by the Council of Ministers of Education, Canada (CMEC).
The purpose of the

“EduCanada” brand is to promote Canada as a study and research destination around the world. This is done, inter alia, by showcasing Canadian educational institutions at international recruitment and signature events. The brand is also used on exhibit material and promotional products, including electronic promotion.
The brand is being used internationally and needs to be registered as a trademark to protect the Government of Canada (the owner of the brand) from the unscrupulous use of a counterfeit or copycat trademark.
