lcmunoz@riversidesheriff.org The County of Riverside Purchasing, on behalf of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Emergency Services Team (SWAT), is seeking competitive bids for Gen III Binocular Night Vision Devices with white phosphor image and its routine maintenance and repair as detailed in this RFQ. Performance level must range from 1600 to greater than 2376 Figure of Merit (FOM). Devices should run off a AA battery, having an optional 4 cell battery pack. Devices should have a field of view of 40 degrees +/- 2 deg with an adjustable diopter +2 deg to -6 deg and an objective focus 10in to infinity. They should include auto- gated tech to prevent damage, manual gain system, integrated IR illuminator, rotating binocular, work with current dovetail mount, auto off, LED indicators visible in tube when battery gets low, and replaceable/upgradeable I2 tube assembly. The weight of the goggles should be around 550 grams to satisfy low weight to reduce neck strain. Five-year routine maintenance and repair are required due to the normal wear and tear during training and live operations. Night vision is a critical component for SWAT in high-risk tactical missions in low light. Such missions include high-risk warrant service, low-light open field movement to apprehend armed suspects, and most critically, hostage rescue events requiring the ability to clearly identify victims and suspects. 3.0 TIMELINE DATES: 1.
