Alligator Creek

A conceptual plan has been developed to restore the stream to a more natural hydrology, reducing nutrient and sediment pollution to Lemon Bay. The agreement for professional services includes surveying, geotechnical borings, preliminary engineering report, design plans, permitting, stormwater modeling, and minor utility adjustments for the stream restoration. The stream restoration limits, and work are planned on County owned lands. The design shall include analysis of the existing stream, sediment management plan, erosion and bank stabilizations, trail ingress/egress access with a future connection of the Sarasota County Parks Trails Master Plan for a Natural Off- Road System connecting Woodmere Park to Venice East Blvd via the Alligator Creek Trail. Project Progress/Status The project was solicited as a Request for Professional Services (RPS) for Design. Design began in October 2021 and 60% phase plans were submitted in December 2022, but no stormwater models
