The existing main entrance gate to Hanscom Air Force Base (AFB), located on the west side of the installation,operates as the installation’s primary entrance/access point for military personnel, commercial contractors and otherbase visitors. The existing entrance is not in compliance with current Anti-Terrorism (AT) requirements andexperiences significant congestion due to high traffic volumes. As a result, Hanscom AFB requires the constructionof a new access control facility, known as the Vandenberg Gate Complex, to bring the main gate entrance up tocurrent AT standards and to improve overall traffic flow into the installation.This project will be designed as permanent construction in accordance with UFC 1-200-01, General BuildingRequirements, UFC 1-200-02, High Performance & Sustainable Building Requirements and UFC 4-010-01Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings.
