Para 3.4.2 states that the Contractor is to hire a Geotechnical Engineer for project inspections / testing. Para 3.13.1 states that testing shall be performed by the Owner. Could you please clarify who is responsible for and will pay for the required project testing? The Contractor is responsible for all testing. The Contractor will pay for all testing. The Owner reserves the right to perform their own testing. 3. Specification Section 02300 Earthwork Para 2.5 states that geotextile fabric shall be Mirafi HP570. Specification Section 02373 Geotextile Fabric Para 2.1.1 states that the geotextile shall be Mirafi 140N. Could you please clarify which fabric will be required? The Contractor shall use Mirafi 140N or equal nonwoven type in all cases. 4. Who is responsible for and will pay for pile monitoring, testing and reporting? Will a load test be required? All pile testing and monitoring is the responsibility of the Contractor. Ball, PE Date Project Manager SOLICITATION OF BIDS FOR CITY OF ST MARYS PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT HURRICANE IRMA BOAT RAMP REPLACEMENT 2018 HURRICANE IRMA BOAT RAMP REPLACEMENT – 2018 The City of St. Marys is soliciting bids for the “HURRICANE IRMA BOAT RAMP REPLACEMENT” as described below in the Scope of the Project. Bids shall be submitted in a sealed container/envelope with the bidders name and address clearly marked on the front of the package. Competitive sealed bids will be received at The City of St. Marys, 418 Osborne St. St. Marys, Ga. 31558 until, but no later than 2:00 p.m., on October 30, 2018 at which time said sealed bids will be publicly opened and vendor’s names and amounts bid will be read aloud. Bids received after the required time or in any other location will not be accepted. Neither faxed nor email submissions will be accepted. Scope of the Project: The project is located on St. Marys Street West at the end of Wheeler Street next to the Cumberland Queen Ferry Dock – National Park Facility more specifically at GPS Coordinates: 30°43'12.61"N 81°33'0.90"W. The project will consist of the construction of two new reinforced concrete boat ramps, a new floating boat launch facility, and a new transient boat floating dock with kayak launching and recovery components Even though demolition of the old boat ramp is completed, the Contractor will dispose of additional debris off site in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations. The Contractor will be responsible for verifying existing conditions, identifying all conflicts, furnishing all materials, equipment and labor for successful completion of the project. The Contractor will deliver a high-quality waterfront facility to allow public access to the water from Wheeler Street. One (1) original and two (2) copies of these bid documents must be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “HURRICANE IRMA BOAT RAMP REPLACEMENT”. Bids may be withdrawn by written request only if the request is received prior to the time and date set for the opening bids.
