A.59 Technology Development for Support of Wildland Fire Science, Management, and Disaster Mitigation Notices: NOTICE: The Step-2 proposal submission opportunity for ROSES-23 A.59 has been reopened until due date May 15th, 2024. Only those proposers who are eligible, e.g., who submitted Step-1 proposals to A.59 ROSES-23 prior to March 29, 2024, and who received a notification that their proposal was either ‘encouraged’ or ‘discouraged’ or who submitted Step-2 proposals after 12/1/2023 are eligible to submit a Step 2 proposal. Eligible proposers who had previously submitted a Step-2 proposal may withdraw the existing proposal, make any changes or corrections (particularly for DAPR compliance- please see DAPR Letter to PIs), and resubmit. The new Step-2 due date is May 15th, 2024. NOTICE: Amended March 30, 2023. This amendment releases the final text for this program element, which had been listed as "TBD". This program element has changed in a few significant ways from the ROSES-2022
version: (1) The 2-Step submission process has changed to non-binding, see Section 2; (2) Step-2 (but not Step-1) Proposals will be evaluated using a dual-anonymous peer review (DAPR) process, see Section 2.2.2; (3) the Step-2 proposal review schedule has changed to semiannual, see Section 2.2. Step-1 proposals may be submitted at any time and will receive encourage/discourage decisions within 30 days of submission. Step-2 proposals must include ESTO non-standard elements, see Section 2.2.1 and Table A.59-2. An Open-Source Software plan is required for Step-2 proposals in place of the Open Science and Data Management Plan, see Section 2.4. The description of the specific proposal opportunity on this page is contained in the document 'A.59 Technology Development for Support of Wildland Fire Science, Management, and Disaster Mitigation'. The document 'A.1 Earth Science Research Program Overview' describes research activities within the NASA science division that is managing the specific proposal opportunity on this page and may impose requirements upon proposals submitted to this program element. The document 'Summary of Solicitation' describes the common requirements for all ROSES-2023 proposal opportunities. The document 'Table 1' contains the proposal check list from the Summary of Solicitation. The documents 'Table 2' and 'Table 3' contain the list of all proposal opportunities and their due dates, sorted by (full or Step-2) proposal due date or appendix number, respectively. All of these documents are kept up to date and incorporate amendments, clarifications, and corrections in a clearly identifiable manner.
