The American Forces Network – Pacific (AFN-PAC) Ku-Band Digital Video Broadcasting - Satellite - Second Generation (DVB-S2) Direct-to-Home (DTH) Satellite Broadcast Service.  The Defense Media Activity requires a complete telecommunications network utilizing commercial satellite bandwidth, contractor provided hub equipment, teleport services and contractor provided antennae to communicate Department of Defense (DoD) policies, priorities, programs, goals and initiatives through the medium of radio and television and to provide U.S, radio and television news, and information and entertainment programming to DoD service members and civilians overseas in the Pacific theater to support and improve the quality of life and morale, to provide situational awareness, and to sustain readiness.
