Section 15 of K009S027W REQUESTED ACTIVITY: The Division of Mining, Land, and Water has received a land use permit application from the University of Alaska to renew their permit under LAS 22433, which authorized the placement of 4 meteorological towers and 3 radio repeaters located in various locations on the Seward Peninsula. Each site has one to three 12 V non-spillable batteries in a bear resistant battery box. The sites occupy an approximate 15 ft x 15 ft area and are visited about 5 days per year for
maintenance. Access is either by foot or by helicopter.PROPOSED DATES OF USE:
Start: August 31, 2021
End: July 31, 2026 DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS: August 13, 2021
The public is invited to comment on this activity. To ensure consideration, written comments must be received by the Division of Mining, Land and Water at 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, AK  99709 on or before 5:00 p.m. on the date noted above.
