Internet Service Provider (ISP) Summary of the Requirement
The Core Technology department is seeking an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to provide high-speed internet service solutions to various remote locations across British Columbia.
Background, Objectives and Scope
FNHA's Innovation and Information Management Services (IIMS) department is responsible for services related to eHealth, Core Technology, Privacy, IT Security, Enterprise Project Management Office, Applications, and Analytics and
Information Management.
The challenges of distance, transportation, difficult terrain, small markets and constantly evolving technology, all contribute to making installation of telecommunications infrastructure extremely challenging in remote areas of British Columbia. The purpose of issuing this RFP is to have Contractors that have the interest and capabilities to provide broadband Internet service to residents living in remote areas of British Columbia for locations who have no other service options available to them for broadband Internet services.
Proponents will be expected to provide affordable services to residents and businesses that will maintain independently certified 'broadband' or 'high speed' standardized speeds, using Canadian methods of standardization such as those established by Industry Canada and/or CRTC regulations.
All amendments to the associated notice, including amended documents, plans and specifications (where applicable), are issued on
BC Bid. MERX asks that you refer to the
BC Bid notice for these amendments. MERX stipulates that potential bidders may also be required to register with the buying authority as a bidder/plan taker. The contact information can be found within the notice abstract.
