purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to contract with qualified firms to provide a variety of batteries, throughout Arizona, to support the Vehicle Maintenance Department of Mesa Unified School District and SAVE members that choose to utilize this contract.1.2. BackgroundMesa Unified School District is the largest school district in Arizona. There are approximately 57,000 students enrolled. Buses travel more than one million miles per school year. The District owns approximately 539 school buses and 503 white fleet vehicles. The District owns and maintains all of its own vehicles. Our maintenance vehicles include vans, trucks, vans, and tractors. Over the course of one year, MUSD may spend approximately $65,000 on vehicle batteries. The District does not guarantee this annual amount throughout the term of this contract.1.3.
