This full-time position reports directly to the Chief of Police and Assistant Chiefs – responsible for the administrative support of the City of Fond du Lac Police Department both internally and externally. This position is the pulse of the agency carrying out fiscal responsibilities, disseminating vital communication to all members, and being responsible for the Department’s administrative efficiency and effectiveness. Various duties and responsibilities
include, but are not limited to:Fiscal Resources: grants, procurement and budget coordination; maintains fixed assets inventoriesCommunications: Department website, social media, agendas, minutes, Chief’s correspondence, City-Wide electronic message board/sign, annual department report for internal and external distribution, department brochures and manuals; Confidential Files/Records Management: internal employee and Department files and recordsPayroll: coordinate the internal payroll function for all police department members;Customer Service: Assisting department members and general public by answering, directing and handling emails and calls, scheduling public tours and guides; andEvent coordination: create, organize, share/post announcements for internal and external events/activities.Requirements include: high school graduate or equivalent; preferred Associate's degree in Administrative Professional or related field with two to five years office management experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities; strong ability to function in a fast-paced dynamic work environment; able to meet deadlines and work under critical and stressful situations. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, public speaking skills, and be able to work effectively with employees and citizens. Strong ability to utilize proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
