When contacted to renew this\nbid, the contractor must request the CPI increase at that time. The CPI\nincrease request will be reviewed by DCPS. Question: Page SP9 Special Condition 35 \u2014 Cancellation \u2014 Dir. Of\n\nPurchasing can terminate for convenience; however, this provision\nappears to be inconsistent with the \u201cCancellation\u201d, page SP9 paragraph X,\nwhich states cancellation is allowed w/60-day written notice due to\nrepeated non-conformance with terms and conditions. Can DCPS clarify if\ntermination is only for cause or also for convenience?\nAnswer: Special Condition 35 states DCPS may cancel the contract if the\nvendor does not allow DCPS access to public records, while Specification\nX states DCPS may cancel the contract based on breach of contract by\nthe contractor and give the contractor 60 days notice. For example, under\nSection X, the contractor is not performing the duties of the contract.\n\n4. Question: Page SP5, paragraph IV., D - Special and Hazardous Wastes\n\u2014 Will DCPS agree that the contractor shall only be responsible for the\nexpense of de minimis amounts of special/hazardous waste materials\nsuch as batteries, white goods, etc., and if the Contractor identifies a\nsignificant amount of such waste in a container it will notify DCPS and\nDCPS will be responsible for same?\n\nAnswer: No, DCPS will not incur a cost for disposing of Special or\nHazardous materials. DCPS will take corrective measures to cure the\nproblem.\n\n5. Question: Page SC 8, paragraph 31. Most favored nations \u2014 The\nprovision is not limited by any geographic area. Contractor conducts\noperations throughout the state and location is an important factor in\ndetermining price. Will the District consider limiting the MFN to a\ngeographic region within 30 miles of Duval County?\n\nAnswer: No, the geographical location is the State of Florida.\n\n6. Question: Page SP1, Section Il, B. Current DCPS Recycling Program -\nWhere does the Contractor list the rental charges for the 95-gallon\nwheeled totes for recycling? How many are needed total for all\nfacilities/schools? Will DCPS be emptying the recycling contents from the\n95-gallon wheeled totes into the recycle dumpsters for the Contractor to\nempty? Are the 95-gallon wheeled totes only required at the start ofthe\ncontract?\n\nAnswer: Specification Il. B. to be amended to delete all 95-gallon\nwheeled totes for recycling.\n\nI.B. Question: Page SP2, E. Recycling Promotional Support \u2014 Is the $20,000\nper contract year a mandatory requirement?\nAnswer: Yes, it is $10,000 from Solid Waste and $10,000 from Recycling\n\n9. Question: Page SP2, F. Recycling Education Materials \u2014 Are PDF recycle\neducation materials allowable to reduce the amount of printer paper? Or, if\nprinted copies are required how many copies per year for the District are\nrequired?\n\nAnswer: An agreement will need to be made with the DCPS Supervisor\nand the contractor. For the moment, a PDF should be sufficient,\ndepending on the circumstances.\n\n10.Question: Page SP2, Ill., 1. Container Type \u2014 Do all trash and recycle\ndumpsters need a lock or just the ability to be lockable? How many\ndumpsters need a locking lid at the start of the contract?\nAnswer: The containers need to be lockable. Currently, the containers\nare not locked.\n\n1\n\na\n\n.Question: Page SP5, paragraph IV., C. Summer Session Collection \u2014\n\u201cSummer Session Collection will be billed at the bid rate.\u201d Does this mean\nthe Contactor does not provide credits or reduce the bid rates during the\nsummer reduced collection schedule?\n\nAnswer: The summer schedule may reduce the number of pulls per week\ndepending on the summer activities atthe school. Each summer pull will\nbe billed at the bid rate.\n\n12.Question: Page SP5 paragraph IV., D.,3(a). Contamination -states\n\u201cPlease see section Il.
