New B642 Office Building

Lawrence Livermore National Security, LLC (LLNS) in support of the Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration (DOE/NNSA) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), Livermore, CA is seeking firms interested in participating in an upcoming solicitation for design and construction of an office building described herein.  The office building will be a single or multiple story professional, modern office building, 20K to 30K sq. ft in size.   The design/build subcontract is estimated to exceed $10M.  A conceptual floor plan for a single story, 22K sq. ft building will be provided with the RFP as the basis for design.   The new office building will be an administrative building with limited LLNL unique functions Offerors will be invited to provide a base bid and provided the base bid is responsive to the requirements, an alternative can be proposed for evaluation which offers an innovative solution that exceeds functional requirements and expectations.  The project will be awarded on a best value basis including cost, schedule, quality, appearance, and maximized office space. As this facility is a new construction and a Federally-owned facility per the General Services Administration (GSA)’s Energy and Independent on Security Act of 2007, it will be required to meet the 2016 Guiding Principles for Sustainable Federal Buildings systems selected by LLNL. The building will achieve this by being Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certified.  Construction will occur in a general public access area in a brownfield site.  Utilities will be available for tie in near the building site.  The project scope will include local landscaping.   The LLNL project team will work to follow the guiding principles of Design Build Institute of America
