NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS FOR UTILITY RELOCATES OKEECHOBEE ROAD FROM EAST OF NW 87 AVE. TO EAST OF NW 79 AVE. WS-24-101 NOTICE IS HEREBY given that sealed bids will be received by the City of Hialeah Gardens Public Works, Department of the City of Hialeah Gardens, via the City Clerk’s Office until 4:00 P.M. Tuesday, APRIL 2, 2024 local time, at which time the bids will be transferred to the City Council Chambers of the City, where, after 7:30 P.M. they will be publicly opened and read for furnishing all labor, materials and equipment, and performing all work necessary and incidental to: UTILITY RELOCATES OKEECHOBEE ROAD FROM EAST OF NW 87 AVE. TO EAST OF NW 79 AVE. according to City of Hialeah Gardens plans, specifications, and contract documents. Bids shall be delivered and addressed to the City of Hialeah Gardens City Clerk, 10001 NW 87th Ave., City of Hialeah Gardens, Florida, 33016, and shall be labeled: “UTILITY RELOCATES OKEECHOBEE ROAD FROM EAST OF NW 87 AVE. TO EAST OF NW 79 AVE,

Bid No. WS-24-101” Any Bidder who wishes its bid to be considered is responsible for making certain that its bid is received in the City Clerk Office by the proper time. No oral, telegraphic, electronic, facsimile, or telephonic bids or modifications will be considered unless specified. Bids received after the scheduled bid opening time will be returned unopened. Plans and Specifications: Specifications may be obtained from the City Clerks' Office, via email at mjoffee@cityofhialeahgardens.com or by calling (305) 558-4114 ext. 218. All requests for plans must be accompanied by Name, Address Phone, and email of the applicant, so each prospective bidder can be notified of any changes or other notifications that may occur. Contractors License. All Bidders shall be licensed by the State of Florida to do the type of work contemplated in the project. The Successful Bidder shall possess a valid Contractor's License issued by the State of Florida Construction Industry licensing board, or Miami-Dade County equal, at the time the contract is awarded. The class of license shall be Underground Utility and Excavation Contractor or Miami-Dade County equal or any other classification applicable to the work specified in the contract. Each bidder shall also have no less than 5 years’ experience in the magnitude and character of the work bid. Bid Security Bond. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, or Bid bond duly completed on the form provided herewith by a guaranty company authorized to carry on business in the State of Florida, in an amount equal to at least five percent (5%) of the sum of the total amount bid, including any options. Said bond is payable without condition to the City of Hialeah Gardens as a guaranty that the bidder, if awarded the contract, will promptly execute the contract in accordance with the Bid in manner and form required by these contract documents. The Bid Security shall be forfeited to the City of Hialeah Gardens as liquidated damages in the case of failure or neglect of the bidder to furnish, execute and deliver to the City of Hialeah Gardens the required performance bond, payment bond and evidences of insurance, and to enter into, execute and deliver to the City of Hialeah Gardens the contract on the form provided herewith, within ten (10) days after being notified in writing by the City of Hialeah Gardens that the award has been made and the contract is ready for execution. Performance Bond. The Successful Bidder will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total amount of the contract before commencement of work and conforming to the contract documents. Sheeting, Shoring and Bracing. When applicable, each bid shall contain as a bid item, adequate sheeting, shoring and bracing, or equivalent method for the protection of life and limb in trenches and open excavation, which shall conform to applicable safety orders.
