ARMORED VEHICLE INNER DOOR ARMOR LAYER EVALUATION

The purpose of this Request for Information (RFI) / Sources Sought (SS) is to accomplish market research pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10, and to identify businesses capable of performing the functions described in Attachment 1. The objective of this requirement is to evaluate the effectiveness of a single layer armor system and compare its performance to the two-layer system required by the Department of State Armored Vehicle Specification. This effort will determine if there is opportunity to reduce the weight and overall armoring cost of DEAV AVs while maintaining equal protection from ballistic and blast threats.
