NIH Common Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE) Training Center (OT2)

Research Opportunity Purpose:The purpose of this announcement is to invite applications to establish the Training Center (TC) for theCommon Fund Data Ecosystem (CFDE). The TC award made through this announcement will supportCFDE by providing and evaluating training that enables the research community, with a special emphasison postgraduate students engaged in research and early stage investigators, to use Common Fund (CF)program generated data sets and knowledge. The recipient will work collaboratively with otherparticipating components of the CFDE to support and coordinate training-related activities across theecosystem. The end products of CFDE will constitute a thriving and inclusive ecosystem that enables thebiomedical research community to use and reuse CF-generated data, knowledge and other digitalresources for discoveries and new purposes.This initiative is funded through the NIH Common Fund, which supports cross-cutting programs that areexpected to have an exceptionally high impact. All Common Fund initiatives invite investigators todevelop bold, innovative, and often risky approaches to address problems that may seem intractable orto seize new opportunities that offer the potential for rapid progress.Applicants responding to this ROA are expected to familiarize themselves with the other components ofthe CFDE listed below, as the TC will be expected to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate withthese
