Senior Center Supervisor--City of Janesville, WI

SENIOR CENTER SUPERVISORCity of Janesville, WIThe City of Janesville (population 63,500), located in south-central Wisconsin, is seeking qualified candidates to fill the Senior Center Supervisor position in the Janesville Recreation Division of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department. This full-time, non-exempt position will supervise and lead the Senior Center staff with a team approach to facility management and membership recruitment and retention. The Senior Center Supervisor will be responsible for developing, planning, implementing, and promoting a program of services and activities that provides social, cultural, educational, and recreational needs for adults age 50+ within the Janesville community. Additionally, this position will occasionally assist with and oversee various community events and recreation programs sponsored by the Recreation Division but may be outside of the Senior Center.Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree

in recreation management, health and human services, social work, psychology, gerontology, or related field is required. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working with the senior population, coupled with at least one year of supervisory experience and a valid state-issued driver’s license, is required. Additional requirements at the time of hire or obtained within six (6) months of employment includes: certifications in CPR, basic first aid and AED, and licensed bartender and WI Food Manager. The successful candidate will have a desire to work with the senior population and bring their knowledge of senior citizen programming, trends, and practices based around fitness, health, wellness, arts and crafts, and a variety of other activities to continue building a thriving Senior Center. The successful candidate must also possess exceptional communication skills, a strong customer service background, effective interpersonal skills, and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.The salary range for this position is $51,237 - $56,750.
