Onsite coating of NIST 2.5m sphere – Combined Sources Sought/Notice of Intent to Sole Source

***THIS IS A COMBINED SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing a Hyperspectral Camera system. If no alternate sources are identified, the Government intends to issue a Sole Source Award to GIGAHERTZ-OPTIK, INC. (110 HAVERHILL RD STE 205 AMESBURY, MA 01913-2137) under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 238320. NIST has a need for the onsite coating of a 2.5m Sphere per the attached draft statement of work.NIST conducted market research from September 2023 through March 2024 by performing internet searches, and speaking with vendors to determine what sources could meet NIST’s minimum requirements. The results of that market research revealed that only GIGAHERTZ-OPTIK, INC. (UEI: ZB94NEFQG8Y6) appears to be capable of meeting NIST’s requirements.

GIGAHERTZ-OPTIK, INC. has a proprietary coating that uses 90 % reflectance and fluorescence-free barium sulfate material, as required for this job.HOW TO RESPOND TO THIS NOTICEIn responding to this notice, please DO NOT PROVIDE PROPRIETARY INFORMATION.
