Public Works Supervisor Village of Wind Point, Wisconsin (pop. 1,676) The Village of Wind Point is accepting applications for a self-motivated, skilled and customer-service oriented individual for the position of Public Works Supervisor. Wind Point is a quality of life residential community in the Racine metro area, 30 miles south of Milwaukee, and is the home of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Wingspread Center and the historic Wind Point Lighthouse. The Public Works Supervisor is accountable for the day-to-day public works and utilities (water and stormwater) operations of the Village. Most work is hands-on and self-directing. The ideal candidate will possess a sound working knowledge of public works, water systems and safety practices, and will thrive in a team-oriented and forward-thinking environment. Duties include routine hands-on maintenance work to maintain parks, streets, utilities, and other infrastructure and facilities scheduling/prioritizing tasks; communications with staff,
residents, contractors and other government contacts; and oversee an assistant and seasonal staff. Minimum requirements: HS Diploma or equivalent; valid WI CDL (or must be able to obtain within 3 months of hire); Wisconsin DNR Water (Distribution) Certification or be able to obtain the certifications within 6 months; three years of experience in street or grounds maintenance work; physically able to perform related position functions and lift 60 lbs.; willing and able to respond to after-hours emergencies within 30 minutes and to work overtime. Desired: Post-secondary education or vocational training in work related fields; experience in a local governmental public works department; and experience supervising staff. Employment is subject to pre-employ drug test and background check; physical exam may be required as it relates to duties. $24.00-$29.00/hr. DOQ, plus overtime for emergencies.
