THIS IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers intends to award, on a sole source basis, a contract to Ceremonial Landscapes Research, LLC.The work will consist of providing technical support to US Army Corps of Engineers New England District (NAE), Birch Hill Dam project to include:• Background research of the Birch Hill Dam project area and surrounding central Massachusetts region,• Walkover survey to locate, evaluate and document potential ceremonial stone landscape areas at two sites at Birch Hill,• Mapping and documentation of the landscape sites,• Provide preliminary determination of eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places for any identified sites,• Analyze and prepare GIS data for the two landscape site areas,• Coordination with Federally recognized Tribes and Government personnel,• Assist Government in compliance responsibilities for known ceremonial sites on Federal property in accordance with
Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act.The contractor must have extensive knowledge and experience surveying, evaluating, documenting, and mapping ceremonial stone landscapes throughout the Northeast. The contractor shall have been specifically trained to conduct the identification, documentation and evaluation of these features in accordance with the Federally recognized Indian Tribes that oversee ceremonial stone landscape identification and include: the Narragansett Tribe (RI), Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah)(MA), the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe (CT) and the Mohegan Tribe (CT).All responsible sources may submit a response, which, if timely received, will be considered by the agency. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. It is a market research tool being used to determine the availability of other qualified sources that can meet the requirements identified above. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this notice of intent. All responses received within 15 days of the posting of this notice, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of theGovernment.
