Overview: The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids from qualified contractors to furnish all materials, labor and equipment necessary for the removal and replacement of an existing asphalt shingle roof on wood salt shed structure at
the Missouri Valley Maintenance facility per the scope of work included in this solicitation. Off-site disposal of all demolition debris is required. Scope of Work: Furnish and install 3 Tab, asphalt shingles with a 25 year product warranty, 60 mph wind resistance, algae resistance limited warranty, Class A UL. Product to be equal to Owens Corning Supreme. Color to be selected from standard color options. Install per manufacturers recommendations for a complete, watertight installation. 1.) Remove existing 3 tab, asphalt shingles, asphalt paper, prefinished metal drip edge at gable ends as required to perform work. Tear off shingles down to the roof decking. Protect lawn, landscaping and siding. 2.) Clean up all debris and haul away offsite. Sweep all work areas with magnets. 3.) Inspect roof decking and wall flashing for integrity. Re-nail roof decking where needed. 4.) Furnish and Install ice and water barrier from gutter eaves to three feet up roof slope. 5.) Furnish and Install 15# roofing felt over sheathing, lapped. 6.) Furnish and install .020 inch aluminum, drip edge. Color to be selected from standard color options. 7.) Install Shingles and hip & ridge cap. All product installed according to manufacturer specifications and warranty requirements. The project period is to begin ASAP upon contract award with substantial completion on or before November 1, 2022. Award: It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible bidder whose submitted quotation is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. All questions related to this project are to be submitted through the IONwave Bid system through the cut off period for question submissions. There is no pre-bid meeting scheduled at this time.
