REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL PROVISION OF OFFSITE STORAGE OF COMPUTER TAPES FOR UP TO A Project Description :The TTC generates tapes for storing data in the course of its daily data processing activities. In order to ensure the security and archival availability of generated data, the tapes need to be transported and stored at offsite facilities maintained by a Company on TTC’s behalf. The selected Company shall support the TTC’s primary data centre and other designated TTC locations seven days a week, 24 hours a day, for 365 days a year. Periodically, stored data on tape media (i.e. magnetic LTO tapes) may be marked “for disposal” by the TTC, in which case the Company will need to oversee the physical destruction of the media as designated by the TTC. For the purposes of this contract an “offsite facility” will be defined as a physically secured commercial building not situated within a 60 km radius of TTC’s location (1900 Yonge Street).
