55 Avenue Water & Sanitary Replacement Project Description :Sealed Tenders, clearly marked as to content, will be received by Planning & Engineering, Wetaskiwin Operations Facility, 5520 - 50 Street, Wetaskiwin, Alberta, T9A 2G9 up to 2:00:00 pm local time on Thursday, April 13, 2023, for the “55 Avenue Water & Sanitary Replacement, City of Wetaskiwin”. The time will be conclusively determined using the National Research Council of Canada Webclock at http://time5.nrc.ca/webclock_e.shtml. All tenders will be EVALUATED, see section 00 21 13 for instructions. The final results will not be released by the City. The Work to be undertaken is generally described as 55 Avenue Water & Sanitary Replacement in the City of Wetaskiwin and includes the following scope of work: • Mobilization and Demobilization 1 • Temporary Fencing, Traffic Control and Residential Services 1 • Remove and Dispose Existing 200mm dia.
AC Watermain 145 lm • Remove, Dispose and Replace Existing Hydrant, Hydrant Valve and Lead Pipe 1 • Install Watermain – 300mm dia. 145 lm • Remove and Replace Water Service Lateral 19 • Remove and Replace Water Service Y Connection 15 • Remove and Replace Water Curb Stop 34 • Remove and Replace Water Service for Seniors Residence 1 • Remove and Dispose of Existing Sanitary Sewer (Dia. 250 mm) 185 lm • Remove and Dispose of Existing Sanitary Manhole 2 • Install Sanitary Sewer - 375 mm Dia. 185 lm • Install 1200 mm dia. Sanitary Manhole 2 • Remove and Replace Existing Sanitary Service Lateral 19 • Remove and Replace Existing Sanitary Service Y Connection 15 • Surface Removals and Restoration including: o Remove and Dispose Existing Asphalt Concrete Pavement o Subgrade Preparation – 150mm Depth o Supply and Install New 20mm Granular Base Course (300mm depth) o Supply and Install Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete: ACB Asphalt Concrete Base (75mm depth) o Supply and Install Hot Mix Asphalt Concrete: ACO Asphalt Concrete Overlay (50mm depth) o Landscape Removals and Restoration for Service Laterals o Concrete Removals and Restoration for Service Laterals o PROVISIONAL: Mill and Overlay, Supply and Install Non-Woven Geotextile and Geogrid, and Road Base and Subgrade Repairs. The City of Wetaskiwin has purchased some of the required materials for pipe, valves components, fitting components, manholes, and temporary water components. See the list in Appendix A for a detailed list of the materials. Vendors are to include these materials in the work. Vendors are to review the list and provide any required materials that are not noted in Appendix A, at their own cost. Substantial Completion Date is August 31, 2023. Construction Completion Date is September 29, 2023. Starting 2:00:00 pm, local time, Thursday, March 23, 2023, Tender Documents and Drawings may be obtained from City of Wetaskiwin Planning & Engineering Services between the hours of 8:30a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00p.m. to 4:30p.m., Monday to Friday. The Operations Facility is closed between 12:00pm and 1:00pm, tenders cannot be picked up or dropped off at this time. An electronic version can be obtained by emailing engineering@wetaskiwin.ca. Contact information must be provided at the time of pickup. A non-refundable payment to City in the amount of $35.00 will be required for each bidder to obtain tender documents, paper or electronic. Vendors are completely responsible for ensuring that their bids reach the correct final location prior to the bid submission deadline. Fax, email and other non hard copy forms of bids or amendments WILL NOT be accepted. A bid bond or certified cheque for the amount of ten percent (10%) of the Tender Price is to accompany each Tender. Submission of a Tender by the Bidder gives the City the right to require the Bidder to execute the Contract and to perform the Work as set out within the Tender Documents. Tenders may not be withdrawn at or after the Tender submittal deadline and will be irrevocable and open for acceptance by the City for a period of sixty (60) days following the Tender submittal deadline. The bidder acknowledges and will be willing to accept the role of prime contractor pursuant to the occupational health and safety act requirements and by submission of a bid acknowledges that it has the capability of fulfilling this requirement. The City reserves the right, without prejudice, to reject any or all Tenders. This project is subject to City Council approval and as such may be cancelled if not approved. Inquiries regarding the Tender Document and/or Drawings shall be by email only and directed to engineering@wetaskiwin.ca . The deadline for contractor questions will be received up to 4:30:00pm, Thursday, April 6, 2023. Any questions received after this time will remain unanswered.
