Police ChiefCity of Baraboo, WIThe Baraboo Police & Fire Commission is seeking applications for the position of Police Chief. The City of Baraboo is a city of approximately 13,000 residents; it is also the County Seat of Sauk County, Wisconsin. The Baraboo Police Department consists of 29 sworn Officers, including a K9 and 2 Police School Liaison Officers, 3 Records Clerks, and 2 Community Service Officers. The Police Chief manages a budget of $4M (2022). The Police Department annually maintains its certification with the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Accreditation Group (WILEAG).Minimum requirements include, but are not limited to:Bachelors Degree in police science, criminal justice, public administration, psychology, sociology, or other related field required, OR the equivalent combination of education and experience; Masters Degree or higher is preferred.Must have at least ten (10) years of police experience, with at least five (5) of those years being increasingly responsible management experience in a command level capacity, with a range of operational and administrative experience in an urban/suburban police department.Wisconsin State certification as a police officer, or be able to obtain certification within one year of employment.Please see job posting for a full list of requirements and job duties, as well as salary range.Applications can be submitted online via:
