Request for Qualifications for Engineering Services for Facility Air Quality Upgrade

The City of Bismarck Public Works Service Operations Department requests written qualifications from professional engineering firms for services for the following: Evaluate HVAC systems at the Bismarck Event Center and Belle Mehus Auditorium related to Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) air borne transmission, i.e. measure existing air flow and air filtration rates, determine MERV rating on existing filters, determine status of negative pressure in key areas. The successful firm shall provide evaluation of solutions that are effective in killing microorganisms (mold, bacteria, virus, etc.), as well as controlling gas phase contaminants generated from human occupants, building structure and furnishings. The firm will develop best practice/cost effective recommendations and design solutions based on industry proven technology, and any proposed requirements/standards being proposed by the entertainment industry, performing artists, and arena/event center promoters to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the Event Center and Belle Mehus. Preparing plans, specifications and bidding documents will be a requirement of the selected firm. Also included shall be construction/installation administration services for the Facility Air Quality Upgrade. The selected firm will be responsible for assisting the City of Bismarck in obtaining any necessary approvals and /or permits from the ND Department of Health and any other agencies. The schedule is for the analysis, design and installation in the 2021 budget. RFQ
