SCOPE: The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) has Boschung Roadside Weather Information System (RWIS) and Fixed Anti-Icing Spray Technology Systems (FAST). Those systems were purchased, from Boschung through Boschung America, and installed in districts 1, 4, and metro. MnDOT intends to renew its inspection,

maintenance, repair, and monitoring agreement with Boschung America for 12 months. This service has been deemed a single source due to Boschung being the supplier of the equipment and software used on a number of RWIS and FAST installations in the districts. The equipment, software, and maintenance are all Boschung proprietary, with Boschung certified technicians required to provide the work, and inability to receive the required service and support from a 3rd party vendor.
