Iowa State University of Science and Technology (ISU) is soliciting information from qualified contractors to provide the goods and/or services described herein.
The Iowa State University College of Design seeks to purchase a
3D Construction Printer to support the 3D Affordable Innovative Technologies (AIT) Housing Project sponsored by the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA).
The 3D Affordable Innovative Technologies (3D AIT) Housing Project will redefine affordable, resilient housing through a comprehensive innovative technologies strategy for rural Iowa communities. Technologies including 3D construction printing, numerous prefabricated systems and solutions, on-site robotics, mobile CNC machining, web technologies, virtual and extended reality have demonstrated potential to improve the quality, timeline, and affordability of innovative affordable and resilient housing for Iowa. This project will integrate these new innovative specialties in the residential housing industry to provide an improved standard for delivering appropriate housing to meet the needs of Iowa communities and workforce including educational program development in partnership with Iowa Central Community College.
The printer will initially be used and housed at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Later phases of the project will take place in Hamburg, Iowa.
ISU desires to have the equipment delivered prior to May 15th, 2022.
Contractors should read all materials carefully and note the due date.
