The focus will be on scope of work, design information, construction considerations, acquisition timeline, and contracting requirements. The presentation will also provide a general program update for the Puerto Rico Big 3 - Rio Puerto Nuevo, Rio De La Plata, and Rio Grande de Arecibo Flood Risk Management projects. The program update will include general requirements, inspection/validation of construction materials laboratories with contractors and sub-contractors, and specific requirements to be considered by material suppliers/vendors, and heavy equipment dealers.Capability BriefingsDuring the afternoon, potential solicitors for Rio Puerto Nuevo Flood Control Project, Supplemental Contract 3: Channel Bottom and Wall Improvements, San Juan, Puerto Rico will have an opportunity to provide Capability Briefings to representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District. Once this is completed you are now logged into the system.PROJECTS TO BE DISCUSSED ARE:Rio Puerto Nuevo Flood Control Project, Supplemental Contract 3: Channel Bottom and Wall Improvements, San Juan, Puerto Rico The work for the Rio Puerto Nuevo Supplemental Contract 3 includes the widening and deepening of the existing channel for flood control purposes by constructing two drilled shaft walls and dredging to the required depth. Each wall is approximately 5200 feet long with exposed heights ranging from 24 feet to 31 feet and will be tied together with a cap beam. Construction of the walls will require temporary sheet piling to maintain a minimum flow area for flood events. This contract also includes a tie-in structure at the Josefina Confluence, a transition the existing river upstream, and a transition to an existing project at the downstream outlet.
