Project Description:The Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit District (SMART) is a government transit agency that owns, maintains, and operates passenger rail service in Sonoma County and Marin County in the State of California. In addition to providing passenger rail service, SMART has recently become a common carrier for freight rail service in the North Bay Area.
SMART is seeking Proposals from qualified firms to sell advertising and manage its advertising program. SMART is looking for an innovative, driven, and creative advertising agency with a proven track record of

successfully working with transit agencies and growing advertising sales revenue utilizing both national and local advertisers.
SMART’s three (3) primary objectives for the firm selected will be:
1) Increasing ad revenue generation for SMART
2) Filling all ad placement spaces
3) Ensuring advertising reflects SMART’s brand whenever possible
SMART’s successful advertising sales partner will understand the strong potential of marketing one of the newest brands in California’s transit and freight rail industries, develop advertising bundles and pricing programs, and analyze potential venues for advertising sales that maximize revenue opportunities tied to the passenger rail service, freight rail service, and beyond.
This contract has a 3-year base term with (2) one-year options to extend thereafter.
