On-Call Materials Testing, Construction Inspection, and Construction Engineering SupportBackGround:The Architecture Division of the DEPARTMENT constructs both civil and building improvements in support of the operations of the DEPARTMENT. These projects require a broad array of services for materials testing, construction inspection and observation, and construction engineering. To meet this need, the DEPARTMENT requires the service of a Nevada-licensed professional engineer in responsible charge of inspection, testing, and construction design activities as well as a properly accredited materials testing laboratory. The licensee must be proficient in providing the required services, and familiar with currently acceptable standards of practice.Project Scope:The SERVICE PROVIDER should be able to supply inspections for all specialties listed in International Building Code (IBC) Chapter 17. However, a SERVICE PROVIDER shall not be automatically disqualified if it is unable to provide qualified inspectors for one (1) or more of the specialties. In addition to special inspections, general construction observation may be required for important work which is not otherwise specified as special inspection. SERVICE PROVIDER must provide the following testing services. It is acceptable if some testing services must be subcontracted to another laboratory, but SERVICE PROVIDER shall have the capability to perform at least fifty percent (50%) of the listed testing in-house. If SERVICE PROVIDER anticipates that it will subcontract testing services, those services and the subcontracted lab shall be identified in the response.
