Summary The City of Issaquah Public Works Department is soliciting interests from engineering consultant services to provide a Corridor Concept Report for the Squak Mountain Non-Motorized Improvement Plan. This project agreement will be for the planning phase. This project agreement will be for approximately one year in duration. Project Description This project will evaluate the 12th Avenue NW & Mt Olympus Drive NW corridor from NW Firwood Boulevard to SW Mt Markham Place. The goal of the project is to add pedestrian and/or bicycle improvements to this corridor to provide residents from the Squak Mountain community a safe non-motorized route from the neighborhood to Tibbetts Valley Park, Issaquah Transit Center, and the Central Business District. A typical cross section for the proposed revisions has not been developed. The proposed work should remain within the right of way, as it is constrained by residential properties and sloping topography. Much of the corridor provides roadside parking for residents (including informal gravel areas) and established roadside trees, particularly along Mt. Olympus Drive. Due to these factors, public engagement will be an important aspect of the project. A community surveywill be essential to gather feedback on perceptions, attitudes, and expectations of any redesign project along this corridor. See attached RFP documents for full
